Trips Under $100

The hills are alive with the sound of monkeys.

It’s been my experience, as a traveler, that the BEST way to experience “local color” is to travel like a local!

For a place like Thailand, the average annual income is about $3,300 per. So, they aren’t taking private jets to Phuket or staying at the Intercontinental. No, travel, here, is a little more humble.

The most practical way for most Thai’s to travel around the country is my minivan or bus. If you truly want to see what life is like in Thailand, take a minivan. It not only gives you the opportunity to be surrounded by locals, but it also gives you the chance to make new friends! I have made many Thai friends on solo minivan trips. And bonus, they give me the inside scoop of things to see, eat, and do that otherwise would never be on my radar because I can’t read Thai.

One time, I even had a friend invite me over for dinner that he prepared at his sister’s (whom he was visiting) home! It was amazing! The experience I had and the foods I tried that I would NEVER get at a Hilton.

Thai’s love sharing their culture with foreigners! And as a foreign traveler, isn’t it my goal to learn about different cultures? Why else would I leave the USA? I don’t take 24 hour flights to go to other countries to experience the same thing just in a different country!

I do however like to splurge here and there on a more luxurious trip, but that’s only because Thailand is now my home. I wouldn’t be staying at The international chains if I were just visiting. There are so many local hotels that are great and I still get to experience the culture of the country.

Also, the extra bonus is, you can save monaaaay!$$$ Which can allow you to do and see more!

So, the reason for my Under $100 series is to give y’all a few new ideas when traveling in Thailand for a great price, and to also open your eyes to a world you can only experience through these itineraries:
